Worst Date Turned to Best

It was a blind date. My friend had set me up with a friend of her boyfriend. I was feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. Then, I saw him. As soon as I saw him all feelings left my body. I didn't want to be someone who was shallow and couldn't look beyond one's physical features, but the man in front of me was not someone that I could picture myself dating. The man in front of me was not someone I could see myself spending the rest of my life next to. The man in front of me was not handsome in the least. In fact, he was quite ugly.

I had a look about me that screamed biker chick. I wore leather of black. I wore boots. The man who I had been set up with was dressed in a polo and khakis - both appearing outdated by a decade. The man wore wire rimmed glasses on his too-large nose. The man had a wart on his cheek. I approached the table with caution, afraid of what this date was going to bring.

Much to my surprise, the man who I had thought was the ugliest thing ever turned out to have a personality that worked well with my own. Within minutes we were both laughing and having a good time. By the time the night was through I was practically begging him for another date. That's right, I wanted to go out with him again and I could only hope that he felt the same way about me. I found out that night that looks didn't have a whole lot to do with who a person is, life is about so much more than that. And, the fashion statement that the man was making, I could change that up once we grew close.
